...well, kind of, anyway! The latest contest over on the PageMaps Blog was a Half Map Sketch. Since I usually only do 12x12 layouts, or at least square layouts, I challenged myself to participate and keep it at a half map size. I decided to do something that would still fit in my 12x12 scrapbook, so I took a 6 pocket photo storage page and cut it in half - that left me with 3 4x6 pockets on each side, so I divided the map into 3 sections - how's that for making it work! So I didn't know how to count this in this year's page count ;-P Do you think it counts as one page?
Here is the sketch...

Here is my version...you can't tell in the pic, but I used Liquid Glass and Fun Flock on the title 'Dream' and it gave it a nice fuzzy soft texture, like her blanket.

And on the other side, I just put pics of that same day - who knew I needed 4 pictures of her sleeping that day - she was just too precious! I think I am going to add some photo corners to the pics on this side.

It turned out great! Way to step out of your comfort zone! :-)
Jena, the "half map" format is really thinking out of the box! The photos are beautiful--what a special way to use them. I haven't used Fun Flock yet, but now I want to get some. :D Super LO--yes, I'd definitely count it as one page! With your young children & active, I hope you aren't losing sleep to be able to scrapbook--the only way I could do it when our kids were young was to be in a sitters' co-op & that gave me 'MY TIME' about once a week. Now we have a too-quiet empty nest. Your blog is great!
Keep scrapping!
Thanks for stopping by my page, I see you have a Bella addiction too. Aren't they just great!

Way cute I love the pictures ALL of them. Glad to see you had a fun birthday, I think it is just so neat how we have so much in common, maybe we are special sisters or something. Twins, only a week apart. lol Anyway thanks for the birthday card you are just a sweet heart and I really do love the images and the thought. I am so glad we are friends.
Love ya,
Nicole
I love what you did with the sketch! Very innovative. And your baby is soooooo sweet...of course you need a zillion pics of her sleeping!!
Awwww, this is so darling! The pictures are beautiful and I love the saying you used!
very cute!! Typically I scrapbook baby photos by the month for the first year and then a few layouts for special events-but this would be an awesome way to encorporate a series of photos (like these sleeping shots) taken during a specific month... sandwiched between the 2 page spread for the month they were taken in!! I'll have to remember this!
thanks for visiting my blog :)
Jana - I love your half-map. I've contemplated doing some, but was unsure where to put them. Do they make that size of an album? Anyway, such precious pics of your sweet daughter :) How's school for the girls - and how are you?
How absolutely precious! I definitely think you can count it as one page...Beautiful layout!
Hi Jena,
I found your blog through Carolynn's, and I think your kids are super cute. I hope that I can have a little girl someday!
