Wings and Wishes

I LOVE the card workshops in the Wishes How-To Book.  I've also really enjoyed playing with the Wings paper - watch for more posts with this paper coming up!  I finished putting this set together a couple of weeks ago, I'm finally getting around to sharing it.  Using the Celebration Card Workshop cutting guide and just 2 patterned papers, 2 cardstock papers, plus 6 more cardstocks for the card bases, I was able to create 12 cards (2 each of 6 different patterns)!  I love how they turned out - now I just need to find some 6x6 envelopes!  Here is the entire set:
Here are the cards - notice how I either used the opposite side of the paper or rotated the card and used different stamps to get a completely different look from each card pattern.
Card 1
Supplies used on the following card: Springtime stamp set, retired Spot On Backgrounds stamp set, Sparkles, and a scallop border punch.  I used the stamp kissing technique on the umbrella using the Spot On Background stamp, and I used the same stamp to directly stamp the pattern on the boots - I love the different look it gave.

Supplies used on the following card: Thank You stamp set, Black stitched ribbon, Opaque Pearls.
Card 2
Supplies used on the following card: retired Legendary Moments stamp set, retired Cherish the Moment stamp set, and wide organdy ribbon that I had in my scrap stash
Supplies used on the following card: retired Free Spirit stamp set, Black embossing powder, retired Vineyard Berry embossing powder, Black stitched ribbon

Card 3
Supplies used on the following card: retired Rustic Flowers stamp set.
I'm not too fond of this card - I think I went a little overboard stamping the dots ;-P
Supplies used on the following card: retired Lovely Buckles stamp set, silver embossing powder to emboss the buckle on Vineyard Berry paper

Card 4
I think these two are my favorite from the entire set - I just love this stamp set that comes with the You & Me kit that's the special for this month - I love the stitches, flourish, and pennant stamps the most!
Supplies used on the following card: You & Me stamp set, Colonial White ink for the stitches, paper flower, Opaques pearls
Supplies used on the following card: You & Me stamp set and Sparkles

Card 5
Supplies used on the following card: Grown With Love stamp set, circle punches -I  added some Desert Sand ink to the color combo for the tree.

Supplies used on the following card: Shining Star stamp set, button punch with paper strips in the button holes, and retired Vineyard Berry embossing powder to emboss the star on black paper.

Card 6

Supplies used on the following card: Love This stamp set (it was good to finally ink this set up, this stamp was part of a special last year and around the time we moved and I never got a chance to play with it until now) - I also used the For Every Occasion stamp set

Supplies used on the following card: retired Playful Petals stamp set, Friendship Blessings stamp set for the stem and leaves, Say It In Style stamp set for the sentiment, and black button brads.
Which one is your favorite?

Whew, that was a lot - if you're still with me, thanks for visiting!

Ghostbuster Pages

Here are some pages I have done of Ghostbuster - he was such a great horse - he will be missed! Thank you for looking and thanks for all the sweet comments and encouraging words! My kids have handled it better than I thought they would - Kaylee especially loved Ghostbuster, she takes after me with her love of horses. After I talked to my dad, Brailee could tell I was upset and asked me why I was sad. I told her that Ghostbuster had died and she said, "Will he wake up tomorrow?" I briefly tried to explain the best I could to a 2 year old and we haven't talked about it since. Then last night when David got home she went up to him and said, "Ghostbuster died and now I can't ride him anymore." Oh how I wish that weren't so!
I'm even getting brave enough to post some "old" pages - I did these at least 10 years ago! Now keep in mind, I did these back in high school, so lack of supplies and experience contributed to these pages - thank goodness for decorative scissors (which I still have, by the way), decorative borders and markers, or they would be even plainer! As much as I don't like my style on these pages, I will never re-do them (except maybe the water damaged one) as it shows how my style has changed over the years!

Reunion Auction Item

For the last 3 years, the family has done an auction - everybody donates items (most are handmade or family pics) and the money raised in the auction goes towards the reunion fund. I didn't get this done (or even started) before we left for the reunion, but I packed up my shoulder tote with papers, stamps, inks, and accessories, and completed this quick little mini album while camping. It was fun to stamp outdoors in the fresh air. Anyway, this is what I donated and it ended up selling for $150! It was fun to make - I will be making more pages to fill up the rest of the page protectors, but this is what I got done up there. I used the Reflections 6x6 program which was so helpful - made the project so much easier! Sorry for the glare on the photos, I was in a hurry so I didn't take them out of the protectors.

Products Used (all CTMH): My Creations Display Album, Reflections Program IV 6x6 Series, Rustic Trails paper, Pewter Accessories, Hemp, Twill and Cocoa Grosgrain Ribbon, Sanding Block, Edge Distressor

Stamp sets used: Hodge Podge Alphabet, Simple Stitches, Building Block Alphabet, Free Spirit, Campin Out (retired), Outdoor Trek, Back to Nature, Roughin It, Weathered Backgrounds

Inspiration Challenge - Week #11

So I couldn't decide on an inspiration challenge for this week, until I received this catalog in the mail yesterday - it was just so fun and simple, and inspired me immediately.
I hope you'll joing me in this week's challenge - use it to inspire you to create anything! You can use the colors, theme, layout, whatever you pull from the picture to inspire you! Please leave me a link to your creations so I can post them in a link here so we can all see how you were inspired.

I've loved this PageMaps sketch since it came out earlier this month and I was just waiting for the right picture to use with it. Well, the sun from the catalog inspired me and reminded me of this sketch and I instantly thought of the song, "You are my Sunshine" - so I found this leftover picture that I really wanted to scrap but didn't have room for on the original layout, so here is what I did with it. I used Marjorie's Color Challenge #18 but I added Sunny Yellow and Crystal Blue to go with Brianna's swimsuit and the sun idea. I have since added liquid glass and prisma glitter on her name and the word 'sunshine' to make them stand out more. I used WordArt to print the song lyrics to go with the circle - I think it turned out fun!

Products Used - all CTMH: Pink Carnation B&T paper (retired); Pink Carnation, Crystal Blue, Baby Pink, and Sunny Yellow Sassy Strands; Free Spirit stamp set (I heat embossed the swirls for the sun rays), Sunny Yellow Embossing Powder, Delightful Alphabet; Baby Pink, Pink Carnation, Key Lime, Sunny Yellow, and Crystal Blue CS
Thanks for looking!
