B-I-N-G-O!

I was chosen as the June Guest Designer over at the Heart 2 Heart Challenges Blog - this week was one of my two chosen weeks to play along.  I had so much fun with this challenge - don't forget to check out the complete challenge details and what the entire Design Team created HERE!
***
This week's challenge is a BINGO theme - we were given the following BINGO card and told to chose 3 items in a row to use on our project.
I used the entire bottom row and came up with this card using the Classic Closure Pattern from Wishes.

GEMS = Mocha Opaques Gems that I used for the owl's eyes.
BUTTONS = two Chocolate buttons threaded with strips of paper.
RUB-ONS = the branch is a rub-on.

Other products used:  retired More to Adore paper (still an all-time favorite!), You're a Hoot stamp set, the bitty flowers under the gems on the eyes came from the Chocolate Mini Medley set - these are currently on sale for over 60% off, don't forget to check out the other awesome deals for the Clearance Sale

I Am a Child of God

This week's challenge over at Sketches! {by tamara} is a recipe challenge - use the following three items on your cards or layouts. You can use more items, but these three items must be included.
*Rub Ons
*Flowers
*Bling

This layout also goes along with this week's challenge over at Practical Scrappers. I had so much fun with the following layout...you can click on the pictures to view them larger...
ETA: I forgot to mention that the sketch for this layout came from the December 2009 PageMaps. The idea to use the I Am a Child of God song like this with the birth details came from a wall hanging that I see in Shelly's house every time we visit her and my dad.

I used 51 bitty sparkles - I was fitting them in everywhere! Here are some close-ups of the sparkles, flowers, and rub-ons used.

This layout was my original project for this challenge, but I knew I wasn't going to get it done before the deadline to e-mail stuff to Tamara, so I quickly made the following circle card to meet the deadline, but then a day or two later I finally had a chance to finish up the layout and e-mailed it to Tamara as well. Here is the card that I originally submitted...

Sweet Baby Face - PageMaps Sketch Contest

Here is my last minute entry for this month's PageMaps Blog Sketch Contest. I have been really sick today so while David and the girls were outside playing and doing a little spring cleaning, I just took it easy inside. I had an hour where I actually felt good enough to do some scrapping, so I pulled out these old pictures of Brianna, and this fun bright paper that my SIL Sandy gave to me, and put together this page. I didn't think out of the box with this sketch since the pictures fit perfectly, plus I wasn't feeling very creative with this cold ;-P but here it is!
***
ETA: I just noticed that the contest deadline has been extended, so give this sketch a try! You now have until the 25th.

I used a variety of White Daisy rub-ons from CTMH, flower brads from the White Daisy Mini Medleys, Color-Ready alphabet stickers, and the following stamp sets from CTMH: Calendar, Noteworthy, Precious Alphabet, Sans Alphabet, and Adorable.

Thanks for looking and I appreciate your comments.

It's a Boy

Here are the better pictures that I promised of my February Cherish Challenge pages - I have hidden journaling and with my photo flip "books" I added to the pages, I ended up with 10 pictures on this layout!
***
I used one 6 photo storage page - I cut it in half and used one half for the folding book on the left page. The other half is the side with the holes that goes into the posts in the scrapbook. I cut one of the pockets off the top and used that for the flip book on the right page. When I put these pages in the album, I will put the photo books on the outside of the page protector - that way the interactive elements are accessible, but the pictures are still protected.
***
The hidden journaling is behind the top picture on the left page - it tells Trysten's birth story.
***
Products Used (all CTMH): Emporium Paper Pack & Stickease, Vineyard Berry ribbon, rub-ons, Clear Shapes, Color-Ready Alphabet stickers, dimensional element letters and flourishes, Tiny Typewriter alphabet stamps, Buttercup Bigger Brads, and to create the coordinating Vineyard Berry Bigger Brads I just heat embossed some gold brads with Vineyard Berry Embossing Powder!

First Page of the New Year!

It felt so good to finally get a page done this year! I've had this picture sitting on my desk with this paper for at least the last 6 months, just never got the inspiration to do anything with it. Anyway, this month's PageMaps sketch contest is using the following sketch...

I've used this sketch before on this layout, but wanted to try it again since it's one of my favorites. So as I was flipping through my pictures, I came across this one and knew it would be perfect! I didn't notice until now that both layouts using this sketch are swim/water themed ;-P I didn't add as many layers/papers as there are in the sketch since I didn't want to cover up very much of this paper, but I am really pleased with the results! I also flipped the sketch upside down. I didn't plan on the folded corner thing, but when I finished the LO, I noticed some pen scribbles up there (I wonder who the culprit is...) and had to cover them up, and I really like how that turned out, even though it was just an afterthought. Here are my sweet girls - I just love the looks on their faces here - so full of love!

Anyway, enough rambling, here is my layout. I used some paper from We R Memory Keepers (Frenzy - Dither) along with some Summer Celebration Textured Die Cuts, Ocean textured CS for the corner and the scallop circle frame (I cut this with the new Big Coluzzle Circle and then added the scallops using my corner rounder), Orange CS, Summer Carnival Bigger Brads, Love Letters Rub-Ons, white brads, and Today's Date stamp set. Here are some close-ups of the Rub-Ons and folded corner.

My First Canvas

This was a gift I made for my MIL for her b-day last month. It is a 10x10 canvas - I sponged Blush ink directly on the canvas and added the Cocoa textured CS for a border and then added the title and pictures. I used the Friendship Alphabet set (I just cannot get enough of that set, I LOVE it!) clear embossed on Cocoa textured CS and then cut out for the title, along with the pink dot paper from the Notebook pack, and Chocolate Rub-Ons.

Just Because

I just had so much fun with Hannah's star card, that I had to make another one. I created this one for CTMH's Make It From Your Heart Rub-Ons contest and wasn't going to post it yet, but it fit Laurel's Blog Candy Challenge perfectly, so here it is! Her challenge was to make a Just Because card using pink and ribbon. I used Baby Pink textured CS, Chocolate CS, Shining Star stamp set (dry embossed instead of heat embossed this time), Say It In Style stamp set, and Chocolate rub-ons to create this card. It was really hard to get a good picture of this one since it's such a light pink and I did some dry embossing, but I hope you can see the detail - I may post more pics later! I used the light side of the textured CS for the inside of the card. You have until tomorrow to enter Laurel's Blog Candy Challenge, so good luck!

Oops...Blog Candy Winner!

Sorry, I had this post started and a winner picked last week, I just forgot to move it past the draft mode ;-P I had Brianna draw out a winner for my blog candy - congrats to...Yvonne! I love her fun costume she told about in her comment...
***
"One year I made two heads out of nylons (using buttons for eyes and I put winter hats on the heads). I put my son in a sweet top and sewed a head on each sholder of the sweet top. He was the 3-headed monster! It was cute!"
***
Here is what she won...
...some fun accessories - Hugz and Big Eyelets and a seasonal coaster frame that I made - this one just includes Fall and Winter, maybe by my 200th post for another blog candy I'll do Spring and Summer that time ;-)
I was only planning on doing a Fall side, but couldn't stop - if I would have known I was going to keep going, I wouldn't have used the Joy rub-on for the fall side - I guess I was in a joyful mood!

Thanks for stopping by!

Altered VHS Cases

Here are some projects that I have been working on for the last few weeks - I didn't want to post any until I got them ALL done and in the mail. The project got delayed by our house rearrangement, but I finally got them all sent out early last week, so hopefully they have all received them so I'm not spoiling anything ;-) These are some altered VHS cases that I made for some of my blogging/stamping friends - these are gals who have sent me fun cards and stamped images or have just been a huge support to me since I started my blog. I made my first maybe a couple years ago and still had a stash of cases to use, and since I don't have any fun images to stamp and return the favor, I decided these would be fun. I use mine as a tool box for my scrapping supplies - just a fun way to hold scissors, tape runners, etc. These were inspired by Yvette West (? - correct me if I got the last name wrong) she is a fellow CTMH Consultant who shared her fun idea on the CTMH boards.

First here is mine that I made quite a while ago...
And here are the gifts for my friends - it was fun to make these - each one became my favorite as I finished them ;-) I hope they like them!

Family Ties

I finally got this layout finished - it's using this month's Cherish Challenge layout, Duplicate Patterns on page 64. My original title was just 'Family' but then when I finished the layout and after I had added the quote, I decided to add 'Ties' and I'm really glad I did - it's more complete now. I used Chocolate Rub-Ons and Chocolate Waxy Flax, even though the color in this paper pack is Cocoa, and I think they look close enough! The rub-ons were used to number the pictures and then on the tabbed piece that pulls out, it names who is in each picture. On the back of the tabbed piece there is one more picture of my cousin, Peter sleeping - notice there are lots of sleepers in these pics! I didn't get many pictures that weekend and I missed a lot of family shots, so I wanted to at least include all of the good ones I had. We got our new camera that weekend and I spent a lot of time figuring it out and playing around with it, so not all of the pics turned out.

Here is the pull out tabbed piece...
I created a 6x6 page as an addition to these two 12x12 pages since I had just a couple more pictures to add - it also gave me some more room to add more journaling - plus it was a good way to feature Riley who got Baptized that weekend, and Simon who was Blessed that weekend. Here are both sides of that 6x6...

Products Used (all CTMH): Perfect Day paper, Friendship Alphabet (large & small), Clear Embossing Powder, Chocolate Waxy Flax, Twill Ribbon, Simple Stitches stamp set
Thanks for looking! Oh, and my next post will be post #100, so watch for some blog candy!

Fall Open House

Here are some pics from my New Idea Book Open House that I finally held today. I am doing an evening 'session' from 7-8 if anyone still wants to come by!

Here is my Make & Take - I made two different cards for some variety to choose from. I used the new Notebook paper with October's SOTM (Annotations) and new rub-ons for one card. For the other card I used the new Perfect Day paper with the September SOTM (Treasure Life) with a fun vellum piece that has the sentiment and holds the card closed. I used Originals patterns for both cards - the Annotations card was inspired/lifted from the SOTM artwork in the Idea Book - so easy!

Here is my table with new products - I don't have much, but there are some really great new products available - of course I want it all!

I love you mom! Happy Mother's Day!

Here is a page I just did in honor of my mother - who I love very much ;-) There is a church that I drive by every day and each week they display a new thought or quote - the one I used on this page has been their thought for this week and I remembered these pictures I had of me and my mom that were taken 10 years ago, so I was inspired to put them together.

I also used Marjorie's Color Challenge #15, but left out the Crystal Blue. I used a PageMaps layout, Barn Red CS, Bamboo CS(which I scored and sanded to create the stripes), White Daisy CS, Connection Club Rub-Ons, the font CD for the quote, Calendar stamp set, and an Autumn Leaves brand Clear Stamps Alpha set (the name escapes me right now).

Thanks for looking and I hope you all have a Happy Mother's Day!
