Clay Play Day!

I've been such a lazy blogger lately - things have been so busy around here, plus David is off work for the rest of the year, so when he's not over helping his parents with their building, we are enjoying having him around! We are having a movie day today with friends, we went swimming yesterday, shopping and a quick family outing the day before, plus all the goodies and gifts we are trying to make every day, there are just not enough days until Christmas! I still have lots to share, plus my blog candy winner to pick - I will get around to it! I hope you all have a safe and happy holiday season!

A couple weeks ago I pulled out the Sculpey clay from my craft stash and the girls had fun playing! Remember the angel ornaments I posted HERE last year? The girls wanted to make some of those and then they found my clay molds and really went crazy with those! Here are some of their creations...
Brianna made an angel for her teacher plus a few mini figures for her friends
Brailee made an angel (with help from Mommy and Brianna) for her friend Kadie
Kaylee made an angel (blowing on a trumpet) for a teacher at school who had a tree up - only handmade ornaments were allowed so Kaylee was excited to give her this one
I was really impressed with how well the girls did with the molds, especially with multiple colors! Here are some of the mini figures Kaylee created - we turned them into tacks and created a tack board for her teacher. BTW - I have a pack of these cork tiles in my sCRAP stash - I bought them years ago for some project, so now I'm looking for fun ideas to use them up! They are 12x12...any ideas?

Thanks for looking!

Very cute. Okay I have to ask...and I may be wrong. But thought I would ask anyway. In the new CTMH idea book there is an Easter picture on page 51. It is the a layout. Any chance those are your girls. I know I may be totally wrong. Thought it looked a bit like them so I thought I would ask.

I checked out your post from last year and that must have been before I discovered your blog. OMG how absolutely adorable! The ornaments you made and the ones the girls made. The crafty gene has certainly been passed along to them, Jena! Love it!

Not knowing what your project was with the cork, I am shooting in the dark here, but my thought was to frame them w/o glass and let the girls use them to tack up their masterpieces when they create. If they aren't too thick, you can cut some of them and use the shapes as embellishments on cards/layouts. Have fun exploring the uses for them.

Merry Christmas, Jena!! I hope it's truly magical for you and your family!
